Kids can get a little crazy, especially on their birthdays. Here’s a little helping hand for planning where to hold their special day.

Putting together a child’s birthday party is a lot less hectic when someone else can do it for you.
At the Nielson Hays Library they can set aside a special place for your child’s birthday on top of providing catering from its own café. There are arts and crafts, story-telling and treasure hunts, but they are open to creating anything else. Just give them a call and discuss the details with them (tel. +662-233-1731). The library is located at 195 Surawong Road, about a 15-minute walk from the Chong Nonsi or Sala Daeng Skytrain station. If your child is not too hot on spending a birthday in a library, there are other places for a good party.
Leoland is the closest thing to a SeaWorld water park that you’re going to get in Bangkok. Leoland has twenty rides and slides, including tubes, a lazy river, go-karts and a whirlpool. It’s located on the roof of Central City Bangna. If you have someone with whom to alternate the chaperoning, you can even go for a little stroll around the mall.
Dream World is also a well-known theme park destination, but it requires your full attention in keeping the kids herded together. It is, however, guaranteed to entertain any child aged 10 and under. It is also one of the only places in Thailand where you can build a snowman and sled down a hill. For more information visit www.dreamworld-th.com.
You could also take your kids to the Build-a-Bear Factory, located in Central Chidlom, where they’ll be occupied making their own bear (or any animal of their choosing) while a workshop leader watches over them. They even provide party favours for all the guests. All of this is included in the package, which is 425 baht per guest. For more information visit www.buildabear.co.th.
Bangkok Dolphins offers pool parties for an hour to an hour and a half. It doesn’t matter what your child’s swimming ability is, they’ll provide the appropriate equipment. Bangkok Dolphins has inflatable floats, games, and even aqua hamster balls on request. If the pool isn’t something that interests your child, Bangkok Dolphins also organizes hockey, dodge ball, capture the flag and other ‘land’ games.
