Pascal Butel is a collector in South East Asian, Indian, Gandharan, Chinese and Himalayan ancient works of fine art. He is also a specialist of collectible carpets. He obtained a double Master Degree in Thai Language and Asian Civilizations from the National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations of Paris (INALCO). When he’s not travelling in Asia or presenting his acquisitions to collectors and scholars in the West, he is based in Bangkok. His collection focuses on qualitative classical, primitive and archaeological masters of Asian Ancient Art from the 1st century B.C. until the 19th century, all acquired from private collections assembled before 1970.
