Phuket as a Yachting Paradise
Thailand’s boating scene has grown by leaps and bounds.
The King’s Cup Regatta is the biggest yacht race in all of Asia. Founded by some boating enthusiasts who got into the sport before it became all the rage, it has now become as much a social event as a sporting event. Thailand is now one of the best places in the world to own a pleasure craft. We have some of the best facilities in the world.
In 2004, changes to taxation paved the way for Thailand to become one of the boating centres of the world. People who wanted their own pleasure craft used to have to pay as much as 245% but now pay nothing. Check it out: www.boi.go.th
